Dearly Beloved in Christ,

Recognizing the importance of education in our community, we gave our full support to our Archdiocesan youth organization, SOAYO, in their endeavor to establish the Education Fund. We believe that this Education Fund will serve as a valuable tool in helping our community promote higher education. The establishment of this fund has rightfully been the concerns of the youth organizations throughout North America for many years.

Finally, with the help of God and the sincere dedication and timeless work of SOAYO, this Education Fund project is now a reality. It is only through education our people will be able to claim back their role, which our scholarly forefathers played in achieving great strides in different branches of science and knowledge. Not only to educate the Syriac Orthodox people, but to also educate people of other cultures.

We believe that the Syriac Orthodox people should not be denied an education due to financial difficulties. Hence, we urge our people to support this worthy cause and to take advantage of this opportunity.

The EFC receives funding by donations; fundraisers organized by SOAYO and the youth organizations of the Eastern Archdiocese. These funds are then distributed annually by the EFC to qualified applicants.

Scholarships and grants are awarded on the basis of merit, financial need and church involvement.
