First Holy Liturgy Celebrated at the New Archdiocesan Center on Midland Avenue, Paramus, New Jersey
On December 26, 2008 His Eminence Cyril Aphrem Karim celebrated the First Holy Liturgy in the new Archdiocese Center on Midland Ave. in Paramus NJ. The occasion was “the Glorification of Virgin Mary”. This service took place at 10:30 a.m. in the Chapel of the monastery. His Eminence was helped by the clergy and deacons from the Metropolitan area. When the Mass started, the faithful filled the whole chapel. Everybody was very happy to really see their dream come true. For the first time the walls of that sacred place echoed the glorious Syriac hymns in its hallways. After the Liturgy, all the faithful went downstairs to the hall on the first floor, to offer his Eminence and each other wishes of E’Edo Breekho.
In the hall, all the parishioners were invited for refreshments and desserts .His Eminence thanked his visitors for coming, and commended the efforts of Mr. Beniamin Malki and Mr. Elias Khalaf for going out of their ways to make the place ready to receive people and for providing the drinks and desserts. For the three days of Christmas , 25th ,26th and 27th , His Eminence held Vespers in that chapel at 5:00 o’clock every evening, and afterward received the parishioners from all the churches for Christmas Greetings…We never expected better and greater Holy Days to break the ice in that area!
