His Eminence visits St. James Parish in Corpus Christi, Texas
On Saturday, February 13, His Eminence arrived in Corpus Christi, Texas on a pastoral visit to the parishioners of St. James of Nusibin Church. He was greeted at the airport by a number of parishioners.
Later that evening His Eminence met with most of the parishioners at the house of Mr. Joseph Afram for dinner.
On Sunday, February 14, His Eminence celebrated Holy Qurbono (Divine Liturgy). During the Liturgy He read the Patriarchal Encyclical letter, which is always issued by His Holiness the Patriarch at the beginning of the Great Lent. His Eminence then celebrated with the congregation the Service of Reconciliation, which is observed on the first day of Lent. During this service he asked forgiveness from all the present observers and the parishioners and in turn they asked for forgiveness from His Eminence and from each other.
After the conclusion of the service members of the church gathered with the Archbishop around the lunch table. His Eminence concluded his visit by thanking the parishioners for their hard work and selfless sacrifices to maintain the parish and for meeting all their obligations.
