His Eminence Attends a Meeting of the Oriental Orthodox Standing Conference in New Rochelle, NY

The Autumn 2010 meeting of the Standing Conference of the Oriental Orthodox Churches in America convened at St. Nersess Armenian Seminary in New Rochelle, New York on Thursday, Ocrtober 7, 2010. Among the members present were Their Eminences Archbishop Khajag Barsamian, Archbishop Yeghishe Gizirian, Archbishop Vicken Aykazian, Archbishop Mor Cyril Aphrem Karim, Archbishop Abune Zekarias and Archbishop Mor Titus Yeldho. Very Rev. Fr. John Meno and Rev. Fr. Joseph Chamoun, both of the Archdiocese of the Syriac Orthodox Church for the Eastern United States, were also in attendance. Ordination of a Gospler Deacon (Ewangeloyo) at St. Barsawmo in Wykoff, New Jersey

On Sunday, October the 3rd, His Eminence, Mor Cyril Aphrem Karim presided over the celebration of Holy Qurobo (Divine Liturgy) at St. Barsawmo Church, in Wyckoff, New Jersey. During the Holy Liturgy, His Eminence ordained Aphodiakno (Sub-Deacon) Bitris Aydin to the rank of Gospler Deacon (Ewangeloyo). Very Rev. Fr. Shamoun Asmar, the Pastor of St. Barsawmo and Rev. Fr. Eli Shano assisted in the celebration. At the end of the elaborate ordination ceremony, the Rev. Deacon Bitris expressed his gratitude to the Almighty God for calling him to this blessed ministry. Very Reverend Father John Meno’s Retirement Banquet

Saturday October the 16th was the date our community gathered together to show love, honor and great appreciation to a clergy who gave 40 years of his life to the service of St. Mark’s Cathedral. The Board of Trustees of the Cathedral planned this party and executed it very successfully. They made sure it expressed the deep gratitude the community, clergy and parishioners, have toward this man of God. His Eminence Mor Cyril Aphrem Karim was following the preparations step by step.
